Rick Hyde
is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. Rick received his Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Union and the University of California, Berkeley. While there, he served as a teaching assistant for Huston Smith, renowned expert on world religions. He practices Aikido and Hatha Yoga, visits Sufi learning centers, and has spent considerable time at the Esalen Institute, where he has performed numerous special liturgies at Christmas and Easter. He also received his certificate in massage from Esalen and has practiced massage both privately and in health spas for over five years. Rick and Ellen plan to offer workshops on appropriate contact for clergy and other helping professionals.
